Após um ano de ausência, Gustavo e John-E regressam ao maior festival de verão que acontece em Portugal - O Sudoeste. O público pediu e a organização cumpriu. A dupla está de volta e irá actuar pela 5ª vez, e este ano, ao lado de um monstro da música electrónica, no que será, mais uma actuação marcante na carreira dos Stereo Addiction.
Em Setembro passado a dupla actuou ao lado do seu irmão (Matthew) numa das edições do Baile em Lisboa, agora chega a vez de pisarem o palco ao lado do fundador das editoras Plus8 e M_nus: Richie Hawtin. Nome incontornável no mundo da música de pista. Com 18 anos de carreira está intrinsecamente ligado ao techno a todos os níveis - produziu alguns dos temas mais simbólicos do género, foi impulsionador do movimento minimalista com a sua editora M_nus, ajudou a desenvolver o Beatport e, procura sempre as mais recentes inovações tecnológicas para incorporar nas suas actuações como DJ. Richie Hawtin é o nome que todos querem ver e ouvir, exigido muitas vezes pelos fãs em vários fóruns e blogs de musica.
Hawtin vai ser cabeça de cartaz no palco electrónico do Sudoeste 2011 e a responsabilidade de o acompanhar só podia mesmo recair sobre a maior dupla de DJs de Portugal.

After an absence from last year’s lineup, Gustavo and John-E will be returning to Portugal’s biggest summer music festival - Sudoeste. The festival’s massive audience were adamant that the duo return, so the organizers gladly invited them back. Stereo Addiction will be performing at Sudoeste for the 5th time. The ante has been raised considerably this time as they will be performing alongside one of the biggest names in dance music history, in what will surely be yet another landmark gig in their burgeoning career.
In September of last year, they played with his younger brother Matthew at a Lisbon edition of “O Baile“, now they will be sharing the decks with the founder of the legendary M_nus and Plus8 record labels: Richie Hawtin. A name usually uttered in fervent, hushed tones, the techno mastermind is inextricably linked to the genre’s existence and continued evolution and success - He was responsible for some of techno’s most revered tunes (such as “Spastik“), he spearheaded the minimal revolution with M_nus, he helped develop Beatport, and is constantly searching for new technology to incorporate into his highly innovative and influential DJ sets. Richie Hawtin is a name that has long been at the top of the Portuguese crowd’s wishlist, and has been discussed and in demand on blogs and forums for many years.
Hawtin will headline the electronic stage at Sudoeste 2011 and it falls to Portugal’s biggest DJ duo to keep up with the maverick techno mastermind. A task that they they are totally up to fulfilling, come August the 7th.
